Explaining a handmade product on a screen
CC Copper Design produces copper bath and kitchen products along with home accessories.
Copper is a difficult material for e-commerce. It is hard to photograph accurately: the surface reflects light, the colour shifts with the lighting, and the real texture of the piece is easily lost on a screen. The customer has to decide without ever holding it.
The second issue is that copper changes over time. The surface develops a patina and needs care. That is not a defect, it is the nature of the material — but it comes as a surprise to a customer who did not know. Having the product copy explain this up front mattered both for setting the right expectation and for keeping returns down.
With handcrafted goods no two pieces are exactly alike. That, too, is something the page has to say out loud.
What we built
The site was built on WordPress and WooCommerce. The product page structure was designed to carry material information, dimensions and care instructions, in a layout that puts the photography forward without dragging page speed down.
The category tree was split by where the product is used — bath, kitchen and decorative items belong to different buying contexts.
Payment, shipping and e-invoicing. Card payments run through the virtual POS, dispatch and tracking through the shipping integration, and automatic invoicing through the e-invoice integration. With fragile, heavy items the shipping process is a critical part of the operation.
Visibility
Tracking infrastructure was set up and we run Meta ad management. Decorative products are bought through visual discovery, which makes Meta the decisive channel for this brand.
The SEO and GEO work covers material-related informational searches as well as product searches; the care and use of copper items are searched regularly.
Server and maintenance
Management and regular maintenance of the hosting server sit with us: updates, backups and performance monitoring run continuously.
