What is iyzico and Why Choose It?
iyzico is one of the most widely used payment providers in Türkiye. It is especially popular among newly launched e-commerce sites and marketplace-style platforms, because it lets you start accepting online payments without first negotiating a bank agreement. Card payments, debit cards, instalments and multi-vendor (marketplace) payment distribution are all handled in a single platform.

Customers pay securely using Visa, Mastercard and Troy cards. You can offer single-payment and instalment options. Instalments (Taksit) and Per-Bank Configuration
iyzico supports 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12-month instalment options — but instalment terms vary by bank. A Garanti BBVA Bonus card might allow 9 instalments for a given basket while an İş Bankası Maximum card caps at 6. You also need to track current per-bank rates, set per-bank minimum basket rules and display interest correctly to the customer. We configure and maintain all of that for you.
Instalments (taksit) are a strong customer expectation in Türkiye — leaving them disabled or misconfigured measurably hurts conversion.
3D Secure — Legally Required
3D Secure is mandatory by law for online card payments in Türkiye. It verifies the customer’s identity through an SMS code or mobile bank app confirmation, dramatically reducing fraud risk. Every iyzico integration we deliver includes 3D Secure.
Marketplace (Sub-Merchant) System
One of iyzico’s strongest features is the sub-merchant system. Automatic Refunds
The refund flow:
- Refund request received — from your e-commerce site or manually
- Refund initiated — full or partial

For partial refunds, only the amount of the returned items is refunded. For instalment payments, the refund is calculated automatically against the bank’s instalment structure.
Cancellations
Orders not yet shipped are faster to cancel. When a cancellation is initiated through iyzico, funds typically return to the customer’s card within a few business days. All cancellation and refund movements are reported and used in your monthly reconciliation. We can also customise cancellation rules — auto-cancel after a set period, conditional cancellation based on order status, and so on.
Fraud Protection and Card Security
Card data is never stored on your server — all payments run through iyzico’s secure infrastructure. iyzico’s built-in fraud system also detects suspicious transactions automatically: anomalous patterns, repeated attempts from different locations and high-value suspicious orders are filtered. This protection layer is especially valuable in e-commerce and retail, where stolen-card fraud is common.

The trade-off is iyzico’s no-bank-agreement requirement and faster start. High-volume merchants can negotiate custom rates. Monthly volumes above 100,000 TL typically unlock better terms.

Settlement Holds
iyzico holds payouts to merchants for a set period. For newly registered merchants this can stretch to 60 days. For established merchants it usually drops to 7-14 days.
