Which mobile apps are actually making money?

Trend Apps scans more than 12,000 App Store and Google Play apps every day and works out how profitable each one is. Revenue and download estimates come paired with revenue per user, and you can filter by category, platform, revenue and rating to reach the slice you care about.

What it does

Who it is for: App developers, founders and product teams who want the market’s real numbers before committing to what they build next.

Scans more than 12,000 iOS and Android apps every day
Gives each app a monthly revenue and download estimate alongside revenue per user
Filters by category, platform, revenue, downloads and rating
Brings the iOS and Android top charts together: free, paid and grossing
Filters recently released apps on their own, and exports results as CSV or Excel
Provides an MCP server that plugs the same data into AI coding tools

The problem it solves

Knowing in advance whether an app idea will make money is hard. The stores show downloads, not revenue, and the two are not the same thing. An app with a lot of downloads may earn nothing; a quiet-looking one may run on steady subscription income.

So the choice usually falls to instinct, and months of building end with the discovery that the demand was never there.

How it works

Trend Apps scans more than 12,000 iOS and Android apps daily and keeps, for each one, a monthly revenue estimate, a download estimate and revenue per user. Whether an app is profitable becomes clear when those three are read together: high downloads next to low revenue tells its own story.

You can narrow the list by category, platform (iOS, Android or both), revenue, downloads, rating and release date. Filtering to recently released apps on its own is the fastest way to see the spaces that have not yet filled up.

The iOS and Android top charts, free, paid and grossing, sit on one screen. Results export to CSV or Excel so they can feed your own analysis.

For anyone working with AI coding tools there is an MCP server, so the same data can be queried from inside the editor.

Who uses it

Developers, founders and product teams use it to check whether there is real money in a space before starting the next product. The same data answers a second question: where an app they already run stands against its competitors. The interface is in English.
